Adios Miami

As we leave Miami I can't help but think, from the first piece we saw Jennifer Rubbel's yogurt performance "Incubation," to Miru Kim's 104 hours "I like Pigs / Pigs Like Me," to Kehinde Wiley's Fish Fry, I was struck by these artist's concern about food and all that entails; where it comes from and the rituals involved in consuming it. I don't know what it all means but it was interesting, thought-provoking, fun and yummy. Art Girls had a great time in Miami. See you next year.

Art in the Streets

On our final morning in Miami, the Art Girls took a tour of the amazing graffiti art in the Wynwood area of Miami.  Karen and Sonja have appraised work by several of the artists represented on the tour.  Did we view these beautiful murals on foot? By car? By bus? Nah, we did it Art Girls Miami style - we rode Vespas!

Birthday Cocktails

After some minor touch-ups to smudged make up and wet, wilted hair, we donned our party clothes and hit Bleu Bar at the Fontainebleau Hotel for one last drink to celebrate the birthday of our youngest Art Girl. Happy 27th Birthday, Sonja!

Monsoon Birthday

After being caught in what can only be described as a monsoon, four soaking wet Art Girls hit the jacuzzi.

Another Art Fair / Another Great Meal

Antipasti platter (before & after) at Fratelli Lyon. We enjoyed a wonderful Italian meal with our dear friends David, Christine, Suzanne and Harris.
