Seeing the Light (and Dark) with James Turrell

Two Art Girls and paramours attended a members' preview of the James Turrell retrospective at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.  Turrell has created a vast body of work over the past 50 years exploring the properties of light, perception, architecture, and the space of the viewer.  Readers of this blog may recall the Art Girls' visit to Turrell's "Twilight Epiphany" Skyspace at Rice University in Houston and his works in the Pacific Standard Time light and space exhibition at MCA San Diego.

The members' preview had timed tickets and only a small number of visitors were let in at a time, which fostered an intimate experience with each work.  Truly an amazing exhibition!  Walk into the light and see for yourselves.
