The Art Girls have been following friend and artist Todd Squires' videos on YouTube for years. Recently, he has taken to posting insightful and clever photos of his adventures (sometimes with trusty sidekick Sonny, the dog) to Instagram.  He has now amassed over 3,000 followers. After much anticipation, this internet sensation had his first actual exhibition of these iPhone photographs at the groovy Beachwood Cafe in Hollywood last night.  Of course we were there to raise a glass in celebration.

Congratulations on a beautiful show, Todd.  Looking forward to more pix on Instagram and beyond.

Todd has been working as an artist for over 15 years. Throughout his career, Todd has experimented with the idea of the "readymade" - an invention of artist Marcel Duchamp in which everyday objects are elevated to the level of fine art, thereby challenging our perceptions and expectations. Todd has developed the idea of the readymade through video, as well as more traditional mixed media works, but recently returned to photography - his first artistic love.

Todd's work is in the permanent collections of the Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, as well as numerous private collections.
