It's an "odd" year, which means Venice has summoned the art world to its fair city for an art bonanza, the 55th Venice Biennale. Due to multiple weddings and other scheduling conflicts, this Art Girl had to go it alone (well, with her husband).
First stop: the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and a special exhibition of collages by Robert Motherwell executed in the early 1940s. The exhibition was small but breathtaking.

The 24 hours of travel and a serious case of jet lag left time for only one glass of wine before turning in.
