Catalonia is known for its outstanding Mediterranean cuisine, which when paired with the delicious Spanish wines we sampled made for some fantastic meals. Never on any trip have we eaten so well. Every meal was memorable and something to write home about. In addition to the restaurants already seen on our blog, here are a few more food highlights of our days spent in Barcelona.
| Cuines Santa Caterina located in the Santa Caterina Market was a terrific lunch recommendation. |
| Albariño, Sangria and Roija were perfect on a hot, sightseeing day. |
| A tapas version of a hamburger...absolutely DELICIOUS!!! |
| We found La Pepita on Yelp. It received rave reviews and was located near our Barcelona apartment. We gave it a try and it did not disappoint. |
| Catalan sized Gin & Tonic |
| Eggs over chips with crispy Iberian ham and asparagus. YUMM! |
| The famous "pepita," which is sort of like a little fancy sandwich |
| Ciutat Comtal is one of the most popular tapas bars in Barcelona. So popular that unknowingly, we ate at its sister restaurant for lunch. It has fish and meat tapas and you can drink on the street outside! |
| The French cafe and comptoir, Josephine was perfect for a late night supper. |
And just so you don't think all we did was drink wine the entire time, here is the local water selection from the famous Spanish food emporium, Colmado Quilez. Founded in 1906, they are almost as serious about water as they are about wine.

| Numen - our favorite. |
