Elephan-tastic or How to Save the World, one Elephant at a time.

After a night of partying and smoking hooka with the locals, Patty and Mary finally arrived from Dubai.  We gassed up on strong coffee and Kenyan tea at the Norfolk breakfast buffet before heading out.  Day 2 in Nairobi.

First stop was a visit to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage.  For fifty years, Dame Daphne Sheldrick has been lovingly nursing back to health orphaned baby elephants.  Their hourly visit with the public is part PR (educating people about their work), part fundraising (we all sponsored baby elephants) and pure fun-tastic, elephant-astic joy (who wouldn't want to watch baby elephants roll around in the mud for an hour)!  Arguably, a visit to Sheldrick is the highlight of any trip to Nairobi.
